Direct Download Links For Mist Trailer
Is Frank Darabont going to be three for three in Stepen King adaptations? It certainly looks like it. Rob Reiner: the gauntlet has been thrown down.
Check out the very encouraging trailer for The Mist in middling, biggish and large sizes, as well as 480p, 720p and 1080p.
Right click and rename the file something like themajesticisunderrated.mov or (.wmv for the smaller ones) or similar to ensure it works.

Fake Documentaries For The Knocked Up DVD
The MTV Movies Blog have spoken to Judd Apatow about a pair of fake documentaries that will be appearing on the eventual Knocked Up DVD. One of them is the origin of that Michael Cera clip posted on Funny or Die - in the full film, several actors are seen auditioning for Seth Rogen's role. The other doc is about Bennet Miller being sent in by the studio to take over the reigns from Apatow. That's almost my worst nightmare - chalk that up as fake documentary, real horror film.
Hopefully there'll be some genuine documentary material on there too. Some of us, Mr. Apatow, are actually interested in what you'd really have to say about your film, and filmmaking.
The lack of 'real' bonus material has always been my issue with the Spinal Tap DVD, I'm afraid. I'd trade in the character commentary for one from Rob Reiner - not Marty DiBergi - any day of the week.

The Tap Are Back!
This Wednesday, Rob Reiner will unveil a 15-minute short film at the Tribeca film festival. the film's subject? The earth-shaking rock reunion to damn all others to hell: Spinal Tap are back.
And, according to Variety, the news gets even better. Do you want to see Tap live? If you've got tickets to London's Live Earth gig, you're lucky - the mighty Tap will be rocking out at Wembley.
They've recorded a new track - Warmer than Hell. The lyrics are, as ever, majestic:
The devil went to Devon, it felt like the fourth degree
He said, `Is it hot in here, or is it only me?'
Talking to the AP, Reiner has discussed the band's ecological outlook:
They're not that environmentally conscious, but they've heard of global warming. Nigel thought it was just because he was wearing too much clothing - that if he just took his jacket off it would be cooler.
And what have the boys been doing in the last few years? Well, Nigel has been breeding miniature horses to race, but can't find jockeys small enough; David is producing hip-hop records and runining a colonic clinic; and Derek is in rehab for his addiction to the Internet. None of which, really, is very surprising.
Hopefully the new short will be online soon or, better still, on DVD - perhaps as a fundraiser release at a nominal price.

Brooks And Henry Give Smart, Get Cash
According to Harry Knowles, Buck Henry and Mel Brooks have signed on to fix Get Smart up a little. Good for them, and hopefully, very good for the film. I'm sad that Peter Segal got the directing gig here, I'd have gone for Rob Reiner. Yep, that popular choice.
I remember when I wasn't the only Rob Reiner fan in the world. I don't look forward to the day I'm to only Steve Carell one.

In A Heart Shaped Box
Poor Joe Hill, everybody wants to name his father when they discuss him. So I won't. I'm not really a fan of his dad's books... though they have been turned into some great films over the years. DePalma, Kubrick and Rob Reiner - twice - have all done sterling jobs in hadling Joe's dad's stuff, Romero and Darabont made pretty good second-tier efforts too.
Now the signs are looking great for the first adaptation of a book from junior, as Neil Jordan has signed a deal to direct and script. It's a ghost story about a rockstar who buys a haunted suiton e-bay. The title suggests a certain rock star, but I've not read the book, so I honestly don't know.
I have read about the ghost's tendency towards possession however: he takes control of a car radio, a ouija board and - brilliantly - the electric voicebox of a laryngectomy patient. Spooky.
There are plenty of excerpts on Hill's website, but I think I'll check out the local library's copy instead.
No news if Jordan will tackle this before A Killing on Carnival Row for sure, but I'd expect this to come later as the script appears to be further from being ready.
